We are Manuscripts and Special Collections at the University of Nottingham. Tucked away on an uninspiring industrial estate in Nottingham, we have 3.5 million archive documents; 80,000 rare printed items; dedicated conservation and digitisation studios; and (coming soon) a newly refurbished reading room and teaching space.
Our original blog was taken down in December 2025 after more than a decade of regular posting. We will be gradually reinstating some of our most popular posts, as well as getting back into the habit of sharing our amazing collections with you here.
